Originally built in the late 1800’s New Mill was a spinning and weaving mill which after closure was later converted into the Carrington Centre, a small village shopping centre.

 

Northern Trust, the owners of the site, redeveloped the Carrington Centre, with eight new retail units, a library and supermarket and all associated external works including the access

road and drainage connection to the proposed development at the site.

 

Throughout the demolition and rebuilding works the original retail units remained

open to the public
